A huge thank you to Tuskes Homes for their generous donation of a small, medium, and large dog crate to the Palmer Municipal Fire Department!

Recently, our department responded to a rescue involving dogs trapped inside a garbage truck. At the time, we had to improvise and use shopping carts to safely remove and transport the dogs from the area (as seen in the photos). After seeing this incident, the Tuskes family — dog lovers themselves — recognized the need for proper animal rescue equipment and generously stepped up to help our department.

These crates will be an important resource for future emergencies involving pets and animals. Whether assisting at motor vehicle accidents, house fires, medical emergencies, or animal rescues, having properly sized crates allows our responders to safely secure and transport animals while helping keep both the pets and our personnel safe.
