On Sunday at Palmer Days the Palmer Municipal Fire Department was asked to perform a vehicle extrication demonstration. The scenario was a 2 car head on motor vehicle accident with 3 patients trapped. Battalion Chief McPherson was first arriving with Fire Marshall Alercia arriving shortly behind. 27-13 and 27-12 were the 2 responding apparatus for the demonstration. Upon arrival the crews were given orders to secure both vehicles, make patient contact, and then remove all 3 patients. Once the patients were removed the guys performed multiple door removals, a dash roll, roof removal and a roof flap. During the demonstration Fire Commissioner Gallagher provided the crowd with a step by step overview of what was being accomplished.
