February 3, 2011 - 1306 hours - Motor Vehicle Fire

At 1306 HRS. Station 27 was dispatched for a vehicle fire on S. 25th St. in the area of the entrance to Easton Area High School. While units were responding N.C. E-911 was receiving multiple calls for a working fire.

Fire Commissioner D.A. Grube (2751) arrived on scene and confirmed the updates, requested the roadway be shut down in both directions, and took 27 Command. Upon the arrival of 2712, fire personal on location stretched 1-1 ¾” preconnect line. The advancing fire melted the fuel tank, so a second line was put in service flowing class B foam through a ProPak.

The fire was under control at 1318 HRS. and declared out at 1333 HRS.

D.E.P. was contacted for the fuel running down the gutter, and PennDOT was on location to treat the roadway once all emergency equipment was moved.

Units on location-2711, 2711, 2745, 9084
                             A/D 2311 with 5
