| Station 27 Officers were alerted to a CO detector sounding at 3318 Kaywood Dr.
A/C A. Carr (2752) was doing driver training on 2711 and was on location in 4 minutes.
Upon entering the dwelling the Orion detector alerted to a reading of 65 PPM.
The occupant stated that she was burning wood in a wood burning stove in the basement.
The female and two children were evacuated and 2752 requested the call be upgraded to a CO2 which dispatches the entire F.D. 2752 and another firefighter donned full PPE and entered the basement. A reading of 550 PPM was detected.
Upon arrival of 2721 the main was raised to the roof to check the chimney. It was quickly learned that the chimney was totally blocked. The roof crew used a chain to open the chimney and PPV was started to ventilate the dwelling. The attached dwelling was also evacuated and checked for any CO.
Stations 23 and 53 were placed on stand by in their stations. 12 Volunteers with 2 engines, 1 ladder, and 1 utility truck responded. All fire/EMS units were clear at
1803 HRS.
