August 9, 2008 - 0208 hours - Automatic Fire Alarm
 

Station 27 was dispatched to 2600 Northampton St. (Manor Care) for an automatic fire alarm. Up dates from the staff on location was for a smoke condition, unknown origin, in the corridor in Unit 4.

As fire units were arriving, EMS started an evacuation of approximately 30 residents. The source of the smoke was found to be a malfunctioning motor on an air conditioning unit. P.P.V. was used to ventilate the building. All residents where sheltered within the building.

All fire and EMS units were cleared at 0311 HRS.
