March 7, 2008 - 1842 hours - Vehicle Fire
 


Station 27 was dispatched to a motor vehicle fire, with exposures, at 3005 Fox Hill Rd. Capt. K. Sobieski was on location in 6 minutes and established Palmer Command. Command reported to incoming units that the engine compartment was fully involved and there was an exposure problem.

The crew from 2713 stretched 1-1 ¾ “ preconnect using class A foam. The major part of the fire was under control when the crew noticed that they had another problem, part of the engine was made of magnesium.

A foam pro-pak was then put in-service using class B foam. The fire was declared under control at
1914 HRS. All units were available at 2100 HRS.
