The Palmer Municipal Fire Department (PMFD) is proud to announce the launch of its cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program, commonly referred to as the drone program. This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing the departmentās ability to respond to a variety of emergency situations, ensuring a higher level of service to the residents of Palmer Township.
The new drones will play a crucial role in situations such as search and rescue operations, fire monitoring with infrared technology, and other critical scenarios where immediate intervention is required. By leveraging advanced technology, PMFD is strengthening its commitment to protecting the community.
We are excited to introduce this groundbreaking program, which demonstrates our dedication to utilizing state-of-the-art technology to safeguard public safety. These drones will empower our department to respond quickly.
The Palmer Township UAS team consists of four trained drone pilots: Kris Grube, Paul Little, Bob Jones, and Evan Goldstein, supported by additional staff. The program, known as the Drone Unit, ensures that drones are deployed swiftly to meet public safety needs, all while adhering to strict guidelines to respect the privacy of the community.
