The Chief graduated Wilson High, Class of 1950.

He joined the United States Naval Reserves and went Active Duty, serving during the Korean War.

He was Honorably Discharged in March, 1955, and within a week, came home and joined the Palmer Volunteer Fire Company and Suburban Fire and Rescue (now known as Suburban EMS).

He began 40 years of employment with NCR Corporation as a Technical Service Representative.

In 1965, he and 14 others formed the current Palmer Township Municipal Fire Department. He is the only surviving original member of the now 58-year-old Palmer Municipal Fire Department.

He was appointed Captain and the Fire Marshal in 1968.

He was appointed Fire Chief in 1975 and served as Chief until 1990. During his tenure as Fire Chief, he was instrumental in the updating of equipment and apparatus.

He joined Pennsylvania State Arson Investigators and was an Instructor for Red Cross CPR.

Upon Retirement from NCR, he spent 8 years as a Palmer Township Code Enforcement Officer.

Currently, Ed is the Chairman of the Palmer Historical Society. Part of his large collection of Palmer Township memorabilia is on display in the Palmer Township municipal Building.

Ed and his wife Dolores have been married for 63 years, raising their twin daughters, Stefanie and Valerie, in Palmer Township.
