| RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) training. The trend will include pictures from in house department training nights, multiple Bucks certification and recertification classes, 3rd party vendor training, and hopefully training nights with our other local RIT companies and mutual aid companies.
We recognize the fact that we are only as strong as our weakest link and are working towards strengthening all the links.
Last night we did 2 different evolutions, both under heavy smoke conditions (no heat). The first evolution was centered around a MAYDAY situation and proper radio communication, as well as proper team communication all leading to the extrication of a down firefighter utilizing a FAST board, in limited space. The second evolution focused on down and dirty grab and go techniques. Each team of 2 was able to choose the method at which they extricated the downed firefighter. Some chose to modify the airpack others chose to use items like webbing, DRT’s, Halligan, ARS slings, etc. |
