The Course

The Challenge Course and competition areas for each objective will be clearly defined with rope and barrier tape.  All competitors are required to stay within the marked boundary of their established obstacle area.  Crossing over into another objective area will result in penalty.  See penalties section below. 
 
All relay competitors shall stage in the designated area established for their obstacle and shall remain within the designated area when the Course Marshal begins the event until their turn to run their obstacle.  Leaving the designated staging area when time starts shall result in penalty; starting obstacle early shall result in penalty. 
 
All props and equipment for the obstacles shall not be repositioned by any competitor.  Course volunteers are the sole persons permitted to move, reset, reposition props for each obstacle.  All props at the starting positions of each obstacle shall remain on the ground until the competitors turn in the relay process. 
 
Competitors are permitted to take a ready position within their designated staging area in preparation for their start of their obstacle. 

Complete Course

Obstacle #1 (Hose Advance – Fire Suppression) 

The start of the competition begins with the first competitor donning all PPE and SCBA.  Competition will begin at the Course Marshals direction via use of an air horn.  The competitor will then grasp two 5 gallon buckets of foam by the handles and negotiate the 75 foot slalom course without missing or knocking over any delineator and place the buckets into the designated circle.  Delineators missed or knocked over will result in a five (5) second penalty.  Once passing the slalom, competitor grabs the nozzle end of a charge 1-3/4” handline and drag 75 feet to the stop circle established in front of the target structure, opens the nozzle, hits the four targets with the water stream, shuts down the nozzle and places nozzle on the ground.   
 
Opening the nozzle prior to entering the stop circle will result in a 10 second penalty.  Failure to close the nozzle prior to placing on the ground will result in a two (2) second penalty. Leave the designated circle before all targets are knocked down will result in a 10 second penalty. 
 
If the nozzle is not closed competitor shall go back and close it.  If the nozzle opens after hitting the ground there will be no penalty and the competitor can continue the course.  
 
After placing nozzle on the ground, competitor proceeds to the start line to ring the bell to signal the start of competitor #2 in the relay.

Obstacle #2 (Forcible Entry) 
 
For the start of this obstacle, forcible entry tools will be staged at the designated staging area.  These tools shall consist of Halligan and Axe married, and a sledge hammer.   
 
This obstacle requires two (2) competitors. 
 
After competitor #1 rings the bell, members may begin this obstacle.  Competitors of this obstacle should have turnout coats and pants donned.  After competitor #1 rings the bell, competitors are to retrieve the staged tools and proceed to the forcible entry prop, successfully force the door with the tools provided.  After forcing the door team may drop the Halligan and axe.  Prior to entry through the forced door both competitors don facepiece, helmet, and gloves.  Proceed through the door, as a team, towards to Keiser machine.  TEAM CHOICE:  One member can complete the Keiser machine of both members may work as a team to complete the Keiser machine.  Once the beam reaches the predetermined mark on the sled, the Course Marshal will signal the team to proceed on.  Competitors will then proceed to the obstacle starting position, with sledge in hand by one member, and ring the bell signaling the next competitor to proceed. 
 
Failure to enter through the door as a team shall be a two (2) second penalty. Failure to bring sledge back to the starting line shall be a 10 second penalty. 

Obstacle #3 (Confined Space, Tire Flip) 
 
For the start of this obstacle, competitor should have all PPE and SCBA equipment on, including facepiece.  COMPETITOR OPTION: having regulator clipped in and on air. 
 
After bell is rung for the conclusion of Obstacle #2, competitor may begin Obstacle #3.  Competitor will proceed to the circular tube and proceed through in any means necessary.  Tube has two (2) foot opening and four (4) foot length.  After negotiating the confined space, competitor proceeds to the tire flip.  Tire is to be flipped three times end over end.  When complete, proceed to the high-rise pack that will be staged in a designated area minimum of 10 feet from the tire flip area.  Competitor is to grab the high-rise pack, place over shoulder and proceed to the starting line, drop the high-rise pack in the designated ring which will be located at the starting line of Obstacle #4 ahead of the staging area of competitor. 
 
Failure to flip the tire end over end three times will result in 10 second penalty for each failed flip.

Obstacle #4 (High-Rise Pack Carry, Hose Hoist) 
 

For the start of this obstacle, competitor should have all PPE and SCBA equipment on, including facepiece.  COMPETITOR OPTION: having regulator clipped in and on air. 
 
After bell is rung for the conclusion of Obstacle #3, competitor may begin Obstacle #4.  Competitor will proceed to the high-rise pack, grab and place over shoulder.  The competitor will then negotiate the 75 foot slalom course without missing or knocking over any delineator.  Delineators missed or knocked over will result in a five (5) second penalty.  Once passing the slalom, competitor will ascend the two story stair tower stepping on all 

Obstacle #5 (Victim Rescue) 
 
For the start of this obstacle, competitor should have all PPE and SCBA equipment on, including facepiece.  COMPETITOR OPTION: having regulator clipped in and on air. 
 
After bell is rung for the conclusion of Obstacle #4, competitor may begin Obstacle #5.  Competitor will grasp the 30 lb. sandbag and proceed 75 feet and drop the sandbag into the designated circle, then proceed to the awaiting victim which is a 175 lb. victim.  Competitor must lift and drag backwards to the starting line.  No grasping of the victim garment or appendages will be permitted.  The Course Marshal shall stop the competitor and have competitor readjust.  Once crossed the starting line competitor will ring the bell signaling the stoppage of time.
