Station 27 was dispatched to a call for wires pulled down by a triaxle dump truck on VanBuren Road near Hollow Road . Road 67 from Palmer Township reported the accident to N.C. 911 via radio. He also reported that the driver of the truck was instructed to stay in the truck.

2753 (A/C Grube) was on location in two minutes. Command confirmed the initial report and added one electric pole was broken off at ground level, two transformers were lying on the ground split open, oil from the transformers was sprayed on a near by building, and there was a small grass fire caused by the downed power lines. All emergency personnel and vehicles were staged a safe distance away. The grass fire was allowed to burn, and the driver was comfortable.

Met-Ed finished their work, checked to make sure the lines were dead, and the driver was moved to safety. The F.D. extinguished the grass fire, Met-Ed made arrangements for clean up of the oil and all units were released at 1430 hours.
