The following is
a list of the type of calls make by the Volunteers of the Palmer
Municipal Fire Department during the severe weather event of September
18 and 19, 2004.
- Sent ladder truck (2721) to Bethlehem Township to assist Nancy
Run and Bethlehem Township Fire Companies to rescue eight people,
one dog and one cat from a roof of a house.
- Responded to 40 calls for assistance and found that those in
need had found help from other people or organizations.
- Responded to 20 pumping details through out the township.
- Spent 3.5 hours pumping out the Seipsville Inn using engine
2713
- Spent 4.0 hours pumping out the 1818 Tavern using engine
2711
- Responded to 15 trees and wires down
- Assisted in stablizing a dwelling with a collapsed foundation
- Rescued 10 people from disabled vehicles and off roof tops
- Handled 12 miscellaneous calls for assistance
The volunteer man-hours for the event totaled 804 .
Members of the Tatamy and West Easton Fire Companies spent 90
hours assisting the Palmer Municipal Fire Department.
