August 8, 2010 - 1343 hours - Dwelling Fire
 

At 1343 HRS. Station 27 was dispatched for a working basement fire. The original caller called back to NC E-911 to report that he now can see flames in the basement and suspected that the clothes dryer was on fire. Palmer P.D. on location reported smoke showing from the front door.
Command (Fire Commissioner D.A. Grube) requested additional engines from Stations 14 and 23 because of the humid weather. 5341 was assigned to R.I.T. on the initial dispatch.

A crew stretched 1-1 ¾” preconnect into the basement and had the fire under control in minutes. Another crew completed outside vent and started PPV at the front door.
All fire units were available at 1606 HRS.
