2009 has started the same way 2008 ended. At 1148 HRS. Station 27 was dispatched to assist Station 23 (W. Easton) with a working dwelling fire. Crews from 27 operated on divisions 2 an 3 for suppression and ventilation. A total of 13 Volunteers with 3 pieces of apparatus responded.
At 1546 HRS. units were alerted to a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries at William Penn Highway and Stones Crossing Road. Palmer P.D. units on location reported no hazards, no injuries. Fire units returned to station.
On January 3, 2009 P.M.F.D. was special dispatched for rescue at an EMS call. A male victim had fallen in his garage and was impaled by the kick stand of a motor cycle to his chest. 2713 responded and used various hand tools, Hurst equipment, and a lot of patience to complete the rescue.
On Sunday, January 4, 2009 Station 27 responded to a total of 4 calls. At 0157 HRS. units responded to the George Weston Bakery for an automatic alarm. At 0403 HRS. 11 Volunteers responded to 4640 Staffard Ave. in Lower Nazareth for a R.I.T. request at a structure fire.
At 1304 HRS 27 responded to 2919 Norton St. for a smoke showing kitchen fire. While operating the kitchen fire units were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at the Comfort Inn. Rescue 5341 and 2713 responded for an activated pull station.
