At 1713 HRS. Station 27 was dispatched to a dwelling fire at 2667 Northampton St. Up dates from NC E-911 stated smoke showing at the front door and the occupant could not find their children.
Palmer P.D. units on location confirmed the smoke showing and the children were not home at the time of the alarm. It was quickly learned that the cause of the heavy smoke condition was burnt food on the stove. Ventilation was performed for an extended time and then the owners were allowed back into their home.
Station 23 (automatic dispatch) was on location with an engine and a crew of six. Station 53 was assigned to R.I.T. early in the call, but that request was changed to standing by in Station 27-1 with 5341.
All fire units were cleared at 1744 HRS.
2751 had Command
3 engines, 1 ladder, 1 Command car and 23 Volunteers were on location.
