Station #27 was dispatched to an explosion in the area of the backyard of 2100 Quincy Ave. at 2111 hrs. Fire units found a metal fire pit with a large amount of wood and numerous aerosol cans in it. After a short investigation it was learned that a group of juveniles were trying to start a fire in the pit. With little success they decided to pour some gasoline on the wood to help the fire.

No injuries were reported and all units were released at 2152 hrs.
