| P.M.F.D. was dispatched to a shed fire at 2231 Northwood Ave. Lt. C. Miller (#2757) was on location in five minutes, and established 27 Command. Timely updates were not possible because of a communications problem. After switching to another tactical channel operations were improved. Command reported a working shed fire that was struck lightning with no exposures.
The crew from #2713 stretched a 200’ 1 ¾ “ preconnect using class A foam and quickly had the fire under control. #2712 layed a 5” LDH line from the hydrant. Command reported to NC 911 that all units would be working an extended period of time for overhaul.
Because of the high temperatures, humidity and pending bad weather Stations #25 (Forks Township) and Station #53 (Hecktown) were dispatched for an engine and crew. Station #23 (W. Easton) was on stand by in Station 27-2. Stations #14 (Nancy Run) and Station #17 (Bethlehem Township) were put on stand by in their stations.
At 1702 hrs. Station #23 was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Tatamy Rd. & Walter Ave. #2512 also responded from the Northwood Ave call. Palmer P.D. canceled all responding units reporting no injuries, and no hazards.
A total of 25 Volunteers, one ladder, and four engines responded. All units were cleared at 1739 hrs.
