December 21, 2006 - 0440 hours - Tractor Trailer Accident with Wire Involvement
 

Station #27 was alerted to a motor vehicle accident with a pole and wires down on the roadway with unknown injuries. Commissioner D.A. Grube (2751) had Command.

Command reported that a tractor trailer pulled wires and a utility pole down on the cab of the truck and the utility pole was resting against a dwelling. All occupants of the twin dwelling were evacuated for a short time. No arching or sparking was reported. #2713 staged in the Parking lot of City Diner providing lighting on the scene. The crew from #2713 did a 360 of the dwelling, reporting no further damage but there were other low hanging wires in front of the business on Freemansburg Ave.

Electric in the area was terminated by Met-Ed making it possible for the tow service to move the truck. There were no reported injuries. All fire units were cleared at 0602 hours.
