November 2, 2006 - Beginning at 1552 hours - Multiple Incidents
 

Fire Station #27 was dispatched for a vehicle fire at 2648 Clover Dr. First fire unit on location was Lt. Chuck Miller (2757). Lt. Miller reported a working engine compartment fire.

Commissioner D.A. Grube (2751) arrived and assumed 27 command. #2713 was the first fire apparatus on location. The fire had advanced from the engine compartment to passenger compartment. A utility pole was also burning.

The 4 man crew from #2713 stretched 1-1 ¾” preconnect using class A foam. The fire was under control at ---- hrs. Station #22 (Tatamy) and #25 ( Forks Township) were on location with two engines and 7 personnel.

Before the units were back at station from the vehicle fire they were alerted to 1055 S. Greenwood Ave. for a large propane tank laying in the roadway, possibly on fire.

A person was transporting the tank in an SUV. When they rounded the corner the tank rolled inside the vehicle. The valve contacted the inside of the vehicle, and the propane started leaking . The driver pulled the tank out of the vehicle into the street.

There was no fire, just vapor evaporating from the valve.

Before all units were clear the P.M.F.D. assisted Suburban EMS and Palmer P.D. with a pedestrian accident at Greenwood Ave. and Jones Blvd. All fire units cleared at 1604 hrs. Station # 23 (W. Easton) was automatic dispatched to the propane tank incident.
