October 24, 2006 - 2242 hours - Pallet Trailer Fire
 

Fire Station #27 was alerted to a possible commercial building fire at 2906 Wm. Penn Hwgy. N.C. E-911 quickly updated responding Police, Fire, and EMS units that the fire was in a vehicle not a building.

Commissioner D.A. Grube (2751) was the first fire unit on location. #2751 assumed #27 command and reported a 48 ft. trailer filled with wooden pallets was fully involved, with no exposure problems. Two 1 ¾” preconnects were put in service. A total of 4500 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire.

Station #23 (W. Easton) was staged in the general area because of a lot of embers caused by the fire. All units were cleared at 0041 hrs.
