April 14, 2006 - 1718 hours - Commercial Structure Fire
 

Fire Station 27 was alerted to a structure fire at 2409 Nazareth Road (Long John Silver) at 1718 hrs. Updates from NC911 stated the Palmer P.D. unit on location reported smoke coming from the roof area, and the business was being evacuated.

Chief D. A. Grube (2751), first fire officer on location, reported heavy smoke coming from the roof, and an active fire inside the building. Day time dispatch procedures alerted Station 23 ( West Easton) and Station 24 (Wilson Boro) for a confirmed commercial structure fire.

he crew from 2713 stretched 1-13/4” preconnect using class A foam. The crew from 2721 was sent to the roof to check for any extension using a T.I.C. (thermal imaging camera). The fire was under control at 1744 hrs. There was no extension just heavy smoke throughout the structure. Damage was limited to the stainless steel fryer. Four pieces of apparatus and 26 firefighters were on location.

All fire units cleared at 1851 hours
