January 22, 2006 - 1319 hours - Structure Fire
 

Station 27 was dispatched to 3666 Mt. View Ave. at 1319 hours for a dwelling fire. Former Fire Chief Tom Pursel was first on location. Tom contacted N.C. 911 via cell phone, and reported a working basement fire, all occupants were outside, and the closest fire hydrant was across the street.

The crew from 2721 advanced 1-1 ¾” preconnect to the rear of the dwelling. The fire was under control in 20 minutes.

The basement sustained fire, heat, water and smoke damage. The first floor had some fire, heat and smoke damage, and the second floor suffered smoke damage.

16 Volunteers with 3 apparatus responded from 27. Nancy Run (Station 14) was on location with 1 engine and a crew of 6. Stations 23 ( West Easton) and Hecktown (Station 53) covered the move ups to fire stations 27-1 and 27-2.
